closeMIDDAY REPORT: Paterno calls for 'ground game' for Obama; McCain ready to name running mate?; police chase driver, 13
PENN State Coach Joe Paterno is in Chicago for the Big Ten Media event and we'll have news on that soon from football beat reporter Jeff Rice.
Paterno, of course, perhaps would be suited for the opening of the local Republican headquarters.
Meanwhile, Jay Paterno took off his coaching hat to rally the troops at the local opening of Barack Obama's headquarters, as Mike Joseph reports today.
"You either get better or you get worse — you never stay the same. Now what happened in the last eight years? Did we get better or did we get worse?” Paterno, the quarterbacks coach, said.
“It’s going to take a lot of volunteers — it’s going to take a great ground game,” he said. “Get in there. Get involved. Get better every day, and we will have a big win in November.”
